Welcome Week Reps
Hey! I just had a few questions about Humanities Reps for Welcome Week. First off, when are the applications coming out? Also, what's the audition process like (can we audition in groups, can we make videos, or does it have to be 100% live)?
Thanks

Application form: http://www11.speedyshare.com /files...ion%202011.pdf
It seems that the you fill out the application then have an interview, (at least from what I can gather)
due by March 25th 2011 at Commons B104B.

Was that a McDonald's employee reference? You really shouldn't be making fun of humanities kids like that dude...

That's pretty much how you apply for any job, not just McDonald's. Seriously, it's not welcome week anymore Billy, you can grow up and stop it with the faculty bashing.

Anyways, best of luck with the application! Let us know if you manage to get a spot as a hummer.

I must admit, the application has some pretty creative questions.
(psst! The best thing before sliced bread was the bread knife, but you didn't hear it from me.. *shifty eyes*)

Not that you're looking for an engineering one, but I want to post on here anyways... The thread makes this relevant. If there are any engineers interested, but who don't know where to find the application form, there you go! SEE YOU THERE

i was just wondering, for the application, the questions that fall under the "why?" section.. are we supposed to be 100% serious, because i was thinking of adding humour in.. any tips will help

That probably depends on the question. What is it?

I'd say probably 50/50. A welcome week rep is supposed to be fun. t'll be bad if you come off as too serious.

Which application are you talking about, and what's the question? I would do a little bit of both. You have to show them that you're responsible and dedicated enough to the position and to your faculty/group that you're doing the application for. Also, you have to show them how you would bring your unique ideas to the table to help the first-years based on your experience in first year and in welcome week and whatnot. In other words, if your personality involves humour then definitely add that in! (while making sure that you show them you're committed to the position).
That's how I see it anyway
