I'm currently finishing up a 3-year BA in English. Planning on heading back to Toronto where I'll complete a Social Media certification at either Seneca College or George Brown.
I'm undecided at the moment, and I'd like someone to help give me an unbiased opinion:
Both campuses are 1 hour away transit.
SENECA:
http://www.senecacollege.ca/fulltime/SMD.html
Cost: $6000 without textbooks (2 semesters)
Certificate Program titled "Social Media"
Provides more classes than GB (but for more money than the GB program)
Requires 100 hours of job placement work at the end of the year. You have to find the work yourself.
Campus is kind of in the middle of nowhere in Markham, ON.
Gym membership included in fees & on campus.
All classes are on Friday and Saturday, allowing room for weekday work.
GEORGE BROWN:
https://coned.georgebrown.ca/courses...g-certificate/
Cost: $1500 without textbooks (2 semesters)
Certificate Program titled "Social Media Marketing" - better title
All courses in this program have online equivalents. Can choose to stay at home for some of them (convenient).
Campus is located downtown at St. James.
Classes are spread throughout the week.
As you can see George Brown has a better location and Seneca seems to provide the more in-depth education (i.e. with more courses).. Are all certifications viewed equally?? Because they seem to be the same certification while one is much cheaper than the other.
Which do you think is better?
