So i finally found a decent apartment on 409 whitney ave. Before signing the lease i wanted to know if its a good area to live in

409 whitney isn't behind the Westdale Plaza, it's west of Mac, near where Main St. takes a turn south (at crabby joe's).

I don't know too much about that corner of the area, but I'm pretty sure the bus that runs down Whitney will come right to your apartment.

I live near that area, a little closer the to the main/osler intersection. The area (at least near my house) is pretty quiet. The way I like to describe it is that we're far enough away from Mac that we aren't surrounded by parties every weekend, but we're close enough that we can walk to school if we want to.

I've lived in this area for two years (going on three in a row) and I've never had any problems.

Ooh! I live (well I will be living) right up the street from there, on Mericourt.

Yeah it seems really quiet there and nice. Like tauntobr said, it's far enough but not too far (perfect for bikes) - plus, it's not as expensive as Westdale. The rent just keeps going up there. Mind you, Main-Whitney is still a pretty penny.
