Wi-Fi
Does the university have wireless internet (Wi-Fi) throughout the campus. Is it "free" (covered by tuition)?

I'm not really sure. Some building basements, etc? I've just heard, I've never really experienced lack of wi-fi in many of the buildings I've been in. I'm sure people will chip in soon, though...hopefully.

I don't remember there being Wi-Fi in T13 but everywhere else I've been there was Wi-Fi but sometimes it was a really weak connection..

There is Wi-Fi that you can access using your MacID and password (the same way you log into SOLAR), but it's not very reliable. The connection is weak in some parts, non existent in others and can time out frequently. In other regions of campus during high traffic months or in high traffic areas (e.g. during exams at libraries, during the first few minutes of lecture in a crowded class), you may have frequent connection time outs as well

I foudn that it's very weak in BSB 147, ITB 147, and the basement of the arts quad (especially TSH 120). There's MacConnect and MacSecure. I personally use MacSecure so I don't need to open a webpage every time to connect, and it will just connect automatically.

BSB 147 is weak only because of the 260+ people on it. If you're there in a small class (summer school) or by yourself it's a joy.

Also I've found that ABB doesn't carry a very good signal (or maybe it's just certain places in ABB?)

just calm down, take a deep breath, and dont stress over small things like this man. There will be wifi, there will be food, there will be friendly smiles all around. just look forward to enjoying your first year and dont get all worked up over it!

I really hate how university services block us from the web. How dare they not allow us browse facebook during lectures and tutorials!

Some of tutorial rooms in BSB...and tsh...and cnh...and other buildings. It can be very unreliable at times but if you find that one special place you have superfast dl speeds

They recently expanded the network trying to cover all of campus. Some buildings that have trouble are ABB and tutorial rooms

It's also elsewhere in BSB...I know BSB 120 in particular lacks internet (I've had three classes in there...it sucks) but as soon as you go into the hallway you can get a signal.
