I think you should change the title of the thread to: "Don't forget to VOTE tomorrow!"

I find this kind of odd... Can someone please explain it to me without rewording the sentence and calling me an idiot/saying "herp derp"?

Strategic voting can't help stop Harper in ridings where there is a clear front-runner. It's best to vote strategically in hotly contested ridings. For instance, even though you are an NDP supporter, you might want to consider voting Liberal in your riding if the Conservative candidate in your riding beat the Liberal candidate by a very small margin in the last election, whereas the NDP candidate didn't garner a significant amount of votes. Voting strategically may ensure that vote splitting does not occur among left-leaning voters. As for VotePair, I think it's safe to assume that it's a bit late to sign up.

Don't worry, in this case, vote swapping doesn't matter all that much.. it will let you help out your party in another riding, in exchange for somebody having no impact in the election.
If, for instance, you vote swapped with a conservative, you're assuming the conservative canditate in your riding already has won, in which case your conservative vote swap friend is trading a potentially losing conservative canditate to more losing for a more winning conservative candidate.
If you're NDP, say, vote swapping with a Liberal, you're helping both NDP and Liberal, against all other candidates.
A tad confusing.

That's interesting, I hadn't heard vote swapping explained and never really knew what it was. My riding is overwhelmingly Conservative, which surprises me because I hear so few people say they're voting that way. Secret Conservatives - sneaky, sneaky.
