100% I would still choose McMaster. No doubt.

Don't really like mac's system for engineering much, so no, probably not.

But the campus is pretty nice.

100% do not regret choosing Mac over Guelph and Laurier. I didn't like the atmosphere at Guelph, and Laurier's campus felt too small. Dunno how it would've compared against Western though.

Anyways, go visit both campuses and see what feels right. You should definitely go for whatever benefits you the most academically, but after that it's all about personal preference and how much money you can spend (i.e. whether you can afford to live off-campus/ on residence)

Agreed.
Wish I would have chosen Waterloo, much better Eng department especially for Co-op.

Agreed.

As a commuter, I would have chosen U of T if I lived closer to Toronto. With that said, I don't regret choosing McMaster, it is a reputable institution when it comes to the sciences and has a lot to offer.

For engineering, I'd recommend Waterloo and U of T over mcmaster. Waterloo's co-op program is best in Canada, and U of T has engsci.

I think UofT is a more academic-heavy school, where Mac is an all-around-learning school. That doesn't mean it's "easier" to get good grades at Mac, but it's not ONLY about grades. There are so many events to encourage your social side (dances, breakfasts, prank day, fundraisers, volunteering, etc) and people/departments to help your academic side (mentoring, Career Services, academic advisors, writing workshops, etc). While I know that all schools generally have this, it seems like Mac puts a lot of time and money into helping you explore as many opportunities as you can.

I haven't attended UofT so obviously I don't know what their school is like, but it feels like it is more centred on academics and Mac is more centred on "community" and being a well rounded school. Classes aren't easy and you can't just skate by and get 90%, but it's not like your life (and the rest of campus) is consumed by academics and school work. I hope that makes sense.

That was the reason why I chose McMaster over my other offers.

McMaster is where I would choose to come again.
I had the option of going to 2 programs at U of T vs. just one that I applied to at McMaster but I still chose to come here for a couple of reasons including:
-as you mentioned, the "friendlier" environment
-won't have to commute to U of T campus /live in the very expensive downtown residences
-Mac campus is 10 min walk from end to end, unlike U of T
-the class sizes are smaller

as for an easier GPA, as others have mentioned it depends on your efforts and what courses you are taking. Don't be fooled by people saying its an easy school etc. because that is all hype

(hope this helps a bit )
