Writing notes from textbook on computer
I'm doing my readings and typing notes onto my computer, but I can't figure out a comfortable way to have the book stay open and still be able to read it easily while typing. Any suggestions?

This is kind of a weird question, I know.

Your arms should be long enough to reach your laptop with your book in front of it. You just have to have a desk deep enough to have your laptop and book on it at the same time.

Thats why most people use pens and paper to write stuff. Saves you time and headache. Try it.

Try propping the textbook behind your laptop against something? I know you might have to squint a bit (maybe? Idk) but that's the easiest option I can think of.

It's not that bad though; you get used to it soon enough and find the best way that works with you.

I bought a book stand from Titles a few years ago, worked well.

use pdfs and multi-window
get a big enough table so that you can put the book standing beside the monitor and keep typing
if your laptop is small enough, put the laptop on the half of the book you arent reading and keep alternating, though this method is pretty bad

Thanks for the input guys. I don't like writing with paper because 1) I can be more organized and 2) I don't waste a ton of paper.
Propping the book behind my laptop wouldn't really work because the monitor would be in the way

I agree with you, plus it helps me get through the readings much faster. Writing everything out just takes too long. Sometimes I put the book in my lap, propped up against the desk. If you're at a comfortable level this shouldn't be too straining on your neck.

What I do is I sit on a couch, with my book on the couch next to my leg and my laptop on my lap, and found it is quite comfy for an hour, do a stretch and repeat on the other side

The book stand from titles is not that expensive but the only downfall is that it's hard to use it with thicker textbooks

Just put a textbook inside a binder, you can prop it up nicely on the incline.
