I don't mind the new layout at all, it seems rather well thought out (though it's gonna take a bit of getting used to).

Yep. Exactly what Google was going for. I've been using it for a couple months now, and they've constantly been updating it.

This new design will probably save Google tons of money, as it has less images, etc.

Good stuff, though. I like it.

I liked it some aspects of it. it was neat once you get used to it.

I was amazed about how people aren't much for change...

People still beg Facebook to change back to their old design from the new one that went live like a year ago. They're still begging on whatever Facebook posts (usually videos about how their accounting department works or whatever, but something completely unrelated); all the comments are "CHANGE IT BACK TO THE OLD FACEBOOK!!! !!!!"

They changes they made to facebook last year really did kinda suck though. They didn't make it significantly more useful while still changing a lot of the things people had gotten used to (aka It annoyed people). The changes made a few months ago didn't get much backlash because they were almost universally improvements (though even then some people still complained).

But the point is that 1 year after the fact, Facebook isn't going back. They will improve based on suggestion, but why go back on their hard work.

And there was a public forum beforehand that they took user input from.

I like the new design, although I always thought that Youtube looked a bit bloated. The minimalism is nice, and I prefer it to the old Youtube, but it still feels kindof blocky. Most other Google services feel more stream lined. I'd prefer if it looked closer to the set up they have for Gmail.

lol i guess you don`t have to be pro-change just for heck of it. As there is an old saying "if it`s not broken, Don`t fix it"

Except when it actually is broken. As it was said before, YouTube was ugly abnd bloated before this. This brings it in line with other Google stuff.
