I think I'll be showing for the tryouts. 2 problems:

1) I can only make the Saturday one. Got a concert to go to Saturday night, which means I'll either be staying in Toronto for the night or going back to Oakville on the disgustingly late GO Bus. Sunday doesn't work at all. How likely is this to harm my chances of continuing with the team?

2) My cardio endurance can be summed up in one word: Pathetic. How much does this matter? And if it does, will there be tips or instruction for cardio training provided?

Thanks.

ps. Can't find the Novice Squad Tryouts on FB. I can find the Rowing team, but it's a private group with no information leading elsewhere.

Hmmm not going to lie, cardio is a pretty important component to rowing. I would suggest still trying out, as your view of pathetic might not be so bad/ what have you got to lose?

As far as missing Sunday goes, I am unsure you will have to talk to one of the novice coaches and see what they have to say on Saturday

**Important**

I have received a number of emails concerning the following issue:

It is expected that you will all attend both days (Sept 11 &12) of selection.

If however, for some reason the planets have misaligned and you are unable to commit to both days because you have a LEGITIMATE excuse you will be expected to attend at least one of these two days (preferably Saturday). You will also need to make arrangements to talk to a coach.

Please do not waste everyone's time if you do not intend to take this seriously. We are an OUA sanctioned team, and in becoming part of novice rowing you will become apart of this. Please bear that in mind.

Thank you/See you at Clubsfest

Hey,

Hypothetically speaking, if you were to make the team, when is the tentative practice schedule(i.e. day, time)? Thanks.

At least 8 oarswomen and 8 oarsmen + 2 coxies. More athletes may be kept depending on the overall fitness of the group we get this year/ it's also the coaches discretion.

As far as practice times go, I am unsure what the exact times will be. You will find out this weekend. In my novice year we practiced 530-7am.

Thanks

If you have a car, please be a friend and aid us in carpooling. Meet at the Student Centre before 830am Sat Sept 11.

If you have a bike, same deal. I will be leading the group down.
