1D04 Course Equivalency - Athabasca Comp 268
Sorry in advance if this thread is in the wrong spot, this is my first time posting.

I'm currently in Eng. 1 and had dropped 1D04 before it had counted in my transcript and need to take a make up equivalent course to get my credit to continue into Eng 2. I had set everything up with Sally Williams weeks ago, she said that the online class Comp 268 at Athabasca University would be the right ckass to take to make up the credit. I just went to sign up for the course today and found out there is a prerequisite (Comp 200) that supposed to be taken before Comp 268 can be completed. Has anyone gone through this process with the same class? I'm hoping I wont have to do/pay for both classes in order to make up for the 1D04 class I dropped. I realize talking to her would be the quickest, but she isn't available till the 11th, and in order to start the class in May I need to sign up by the 10th of April.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm worried about getting not being able to continue into Eng 2 in the fall without completing these course(s) by September.

Thanks

Probably have to figure out an equivalent course to Comp 200 at McMaster. If it's one you've already taken then you can probably get a waiver. Figure out what Comp 200 is and what it's closest to in terms of courses you've already taken at McMaster. Then contact Athabasca to see if you can get a waiver.

Prerequisite:COMP 200. Students should have a basic knowledge of computers, programming, and the Internet. They should have completed high school algebra. COMP 200 includes an introduction to programming concepts and also involves setting up and using the Java programming language compiling environment. This is assumed knowledge when starting COMP 268. The following site will provide you information about setting and up and using the Java compiling environment, http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/getStarted/
cupojava/index.html

I'm looking to do this course as well!

and it mentons THIS IS ASSUMED KNOWLEDGE. So I guess they dont really care?
