Athabasca Transfer Credit
Hey so I'm planning to take the Psych 1XX3 equivalent at Athabasca University and while I haven't paid for anything yet, I wanted to see what other people have to say about online courses, esp those who have taken Psyc 289 or any course from Athabasca? Opinions or whatever? Thanks!

Did you see the ad in the Sil?

I thought about it too and it seems good. The only complaint I have is that it would only be counted as a pass/fail which may hinder other things for me, such as grad school, scholarships, etc.

I don't have anything to offer to you but hopefully others can and you can let me know how it went as well lol

You should contact the grad school you want to apply to about it. I talked to Waterloo's optometry program about taking courses in summer school and they said they would pull out the transcript form said university, in my case UofT. Although I'm not completely sure it'll work, but from the way I see it you have to apply as a part-time student at UofT, and therefore they should have a file with the course you have taken. So you it should contain your mark. However, it won't do any good for your GPA at McMaster.

When you apply to a graduate program they request transcripts from all institutions you attend. So although the grade won't be on your Mac transcript, it will be on another one.

Don't forget about letters of permission that you need the associates deans office to approve in order for the course to count towards your degree. Something you should start early because they take over a week to be processed.
