I love how that fee structure doesn't come CLOSE to giving me an idea of what I would pay for engineering level 2 and society.

a) It only gives engineering, or eng&mgmt
b)it only goes up to 33 credits (Eng&scty is 40 credits)
c) Uh oh.... if 33 credits costs 8G's, what the heck am I paying next year :S

whatever fees is give for Eng and management, you will be paying the same for eng and society. and you will be paying for only upto 33 credits even if you take 40 credits.

$5051.11 next year for me. Plus supplementary fees. God knows how much that'll cost.

Um, I'm not sure if that would be the case. My tuition last year was 4900, if it's 6000 this year that would be an increase of 22.45% which I don't think is possible... if it includes the supplementary it would be an increase of 4.1% which seems a lot more likely.

So, how does this work? Do we take the numbers from the level we're in, or the level of the course? (ie, if someone were to take a 1st year course while their in level 2, do they take the number from level 1 or 2?)

Do you take the price from the faculty you're in, or the faculty of the course?

I think it's just what year you are in and the faculty you are in. Because the values aren't in terms of dollars/credit anymore.

So I found this: http://www.mcmaster.ca/bms/student/p...s_included.pdf

If the first document seems hyper-inflated, it's probably because it already includes any miscellaneous fees.

That's what I said, there's no way it would have gone up 22%. The 4% I calculated included the supplementary fees.

It's the fee per class. I took two first year classes last year, which with the increase in recent years made my tuition more expensive.

Humanities is the cheapest.

I'm pretty sure I didn't get the Eng + Management discount through my level II year. I've been meaning to ask why not, but I never got around to it.

The whole thing was kind of wonky though. Here's what I know:

- I took 37 units in level 2, but I was only charged for 34. Also, dropping a four-unit course only brought my tuition down to the cost of 33 units.

- I ended up taking the four-unit course though, since I was only essentially paying one unit's worth for it.

- If it matters, the aforementioned course wasn't supposed to be taken until level III.

- When I tried to add another four-unit course, tuition went up by the cost of four units.

- The official calendar said I was supposed to take 33~36 units in level II, so I was overloading by either four units or one unit.

- I didn't take any electives in Fall/Winter of level II; I took courses that I was supposed to take in level II in their place.

Put the pieces together as you will. Regardless, I was charged $213.23/unit in all calculations mentioned above, not the $192.85 for Eng and Management mentioned here.
