"From Siobhan and everyone on our team, we would like to deeply thank you for all of your support throughout this whole process. We could not have done it without you! Thank you for caring and for voting - all of you are super awesome and we look forward to not only finding something for you next year, but hearing your ideas, hopes, and continuing to work with all of you to make McMaster a better place! Thank you so much!" - Shawn
Via the MSU: The unofficial winner has been declared; Siobhan Stewart is the 2012-2013 President-elect of the McMaster Students Union. The President takes office on May 1st, 2012. Results are unofficial as all candidates have five (5) business days to appeal their fines and contest the results.
Voter turnout for the 2012 MSU Presidential election set a new all-time record for ballots cast with 6703 students voting. This represents 33.4% of the eligible voters. This is an increase of nearly 10% over last year’s election turnout and is the highest percentage of voter turnout since 1998.

i never knew there were rounds.... musta been the after crossing off the lowest etc etc. in all honesty i thought the first 3 would have won instead of her. cg stewart
^^ yea i doubt that the fall reading week will ever happen, and imo i dont think there needs to be one seeing as we just got of the summer break. the smart thing to do would be to extend the winter break between the 2 terms because form what i can tell mcmaster has one of the shortest ones of all the unis in ontario and i think its more important to have a break between 2 full terms than one right after only a month of school.
but w.e's
congrats and heres hoping for the best
p.s. please dont be like a real politician and lets actually see some of those promises come through, but dont worry i wont hold you to the fall reading week one lol

Actually, for next year winter break is extended for another week. We don't have to go back until January 7th now!
