2nd-and-3rd-year Linguistics Course Recommendations
I'm planning on minoring in linguistics because I seem to do well and I find it decently interesting! Beyond the two first-year courses, I have taken syntax and psycholinguistics (which I took as a mandatory psych credit), so I still need 15 units to complete my minor. I need suggestions as to what courses I should take!
I was thinking morphology, semantics, phonetics, phonology, and forensic linguistics (just because Moro teaches it!) for the minor, and child language acquisition as a psych credit. I was also thinking of taking sociolinguistics, historical linguistics, math for linguistics, adv. morphology and syntax, and/or typology, instead/too. Can anyone comment on said courses and/or give any feedback about any other courses?
Thanks in advance!

I'm planning on minoring too and taking Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, and possibly Sociolinguistics. Typology seems pretty interesting too. I heard the "From Texts to Discourse" course was a pretty fun one too. Looking forward to that. I think you should follow up on sections that interested you in first year.
I, for one, know I'm not going anywhere near Historical or Global lingusitics.

I'd highly recommend syntax, btw. It wasn't too hard, light workload, relatively interesting. Even if you didn't get it in 1AA3, it's okay because you start from beginning to end, so if certain rules and stuff didn't make sense to you the first time, you'll likely get it now because it's explained more clearly and thoroughly.

Dr. Moro teaches forensic linguistics? Oh, I so have to take that course now. I took A03 last term with her and she is AMAZING.

Personally as a student of Linguistics, I loved taking Phonology (Ling 3A03) this year. The pre-requisite to this course is Phonetics (Ling 2L03), however, so you have to take that course first which is fun because it's mostly about IPA symbols just like 1A03 (which are so easy!). The whole concept behind Phonology is a lot of problem solving and analytical skills. It's challenging, but as nerdy as it sounds, it's fun to try and solve stuff and find the answers. Definite recommendation!

IKR? Loved phonology in 1A03. Just a heads up, it's 2PH3 this year, offered in term 2.
I don't think 2L03 (Phonetics) is a pre-req.
Also, they aren't offering Forensic Linguistics this year.

A lot of sociolinguistcs courses are rarely offered because Dr. Moro is mostly teaching grad school now.
