Is the only new thing about Econ 2G03 is using calculus to solve all the problems? And do profs expect you to know all the proofs, or just apply the calculus?

2G03 is producer theory, so it's much more math intensive than what you see in 1B03... It's basically economic applications for businesses: optimization, and then perfect competition/monopoly practices except with more math. Take it with Holmes, she is the easiest and the best if you're not a math person. I personally found 2H03 much easier, but then I found 1BB3 much easier than 1B03.

Is 2D03 math questions, too? I heard it is a lot of theory, not quantitative.

Mostly theory in 2D03, iirc the math is pretty much limited to calculating consumer surplus, producer surplus, deadweight loss, etc

I think I just didn't like the prof for 1BB3..the material was easy enough to absorb. This thread has a lot of useful information for second year Econ courses, so thank you to everyone who contributed to it.

Hi,
Does Holmes still give out those bonus marks in the year when she's teaching Term 2? Because I know she gives a lot of bonus marks in the summer, but what about in Term 2 when another prof is teaching the same course?

There was a thread I recently read and someone did state that she did indeed give a 10% bonus for the exam and a few other things.
