2nd Year Help
I am continuing in the Honours Life Science Pathway, and i was wonder if i could get some advice on courses for next year.

Would this course load be too heavy/demanding ? If not how would you break it up into two semesters?

Physics 1B03
Life Science 2A03,203,D03,2H03
Biology 2F03,2B03,2A03
Chem 2OA3
Earth Sci 1A03

Thanks
Braedon

yep that's pretty much what I took in second year. My only advice is that if ur not good at orgo then take it in the summer (it has a heavy work-load and some difficult concepts)

Yeah seems manageable/balanced.

I took Life 2D03, 2H03 - really easy

Bio 2F03, 2B03, 2A03 are pretty easy too. (although not as easy as 2D03/2H03)

Chem 2A03 and Physics 1B03 were my lowest marks...but still doable if you study everyday and get help (Physics Help Centre! O-chem help centre right next to it!) Go to office hours! You get a lot of tips for the midterms and the assignements (orgo) that everyone is scrambling to do last min.

edit: yeah, listen to Rhythm, take orgo in the summer! I regret not doing this.
Make sure you take both orgos together!, whether during the summer or school year!

Enviro 1A03 is a good course, kind of boring but Bernier lets you know exactly how to do well. Also agreeing with Rhythm I am in Summer Orgo right now and it's been a breeze (I have Landry).

5 courses a term is never too tough if you ask me! be thankful you don't have to take 6 courses a term like in Engineering... ARGHH

That schedule definitely sounds manageable. My advice would be to spend as much time on orgo as you can. I'm not amazing at it, but I don't think it's a course anyone can cram right before a midterm :(.

Physics 1B03 and Chem 2OA3 are your hardest courses, I would take them in separate terms. If anything, you should try to do Chem 2OA3 in the summer so that you can concentrate on it and practise a lot, but I know lots of people who did it during the year. It just takes a lot of work.

I haven't taken the life science courses, I heard that 2H03 is pretty straightforward/easy. Biology 2A03 is the hardest out of the biologies, the key is to talk to your TA and make sure you start your lab reports early, they're marked hard and take a while to write. Biology 2F03 was supposed to be good, and 2B03 is memorization mostly and doable (non-cumulative final exam).

Overall it doesn't seem like it's too bad, but I'm not too familiar with the life sci courses.
