5 hours straight of class?
With the way my timetable is currently I'll have 5 hours in a row of class on Thursdays in term 1. I'm wondering whether I should stick with this or try switching one of the classes to something else to open up a break in the middle? Thoughts?

5 hours is not bad at all. You shouldn't have any problem with that.

As long as you don't mind eating in class you should be fine.

As long as the lectures aren't too far apart (e.g. KTH to ITB or something) it should be fine, just make sure to have a snack or two with you to eat in class and you'll be fine. Otherwise, you'll get hungry and you'll lose your focus after a while.

I just checked and none of them are too far apart so with that I should be good! I'll definitely be bringing snacks, I don't know how some people can go like 6+ hours without eating, I just can't do that lol

Last year, I had 6 classes 6 hours straight from 830 to 230. I couldnt help but fell asleep in the last class every time.

I had that last year and I was fine with it. But, realistically, you have to decide for yourself whether or not you can concentrate for that amount of time without any substantial breaks.

dreamer21 says thanks to Allana:) for this post.

It's always Thursday term 1. In my first year I had like 7 hours or something, and Thursday second year I had 9 hours of class on Thursdays. It's annoying but not horrible.

Last year i had 5 straight classes from 8:30-1:30 on Friday. For me I couldnt deal with it. I had classes everywhere (2 in MDCl, than HH, than 2 in TSH). By the time i had my 4th class I was exhausted. I think i made it to all 5 classes only 3 times all yr (I would either skip my 4th one or my last one because I was that tired). I would say its ok to have 5 straight if you dont start really early in the morning. I know I had 6 straight hours in term 1 last year but it started at 9:30 so I was perfectly fine since i could sleep in a little.

2nd term mondays for me last year went like this: 8:30-9:30 in ABB, then 9:30-11:30 in IWC (for a lab), then 11:30-12:30 in ITB, and finally 12:30-1:30 in TSH. It sucks, but you get used to it.

Like others have said, 5 hours isn't too bad, you'll be able to do it. You're lucky it's term 1 though. If it was term 2, it would be more of a pain because of the snow.
