8 month lease in apartments..
I've read that theres sometimes the possibility of getting an 8-month lease in an apartment if you look in like july/august, because landlords want to fill spaces
Has anyone had experience with this/heard of anyone who's done this?
Would there be much selection left around mac? Or would the apartments be like the leftovers that the landlords cant get rid of cause theyre gross..
There's 2 of us so we just need a 2bdrm.. but we don't know if it'd be safer to just get a 12-month lease, or take the chance and hope we can get an 8-month lease.. we wouldn't be living there in the summer, and we most likely wouldn't be subletting soo yea
opinions/advice??
Thanks !

It's possible to get an 8-month lease right now. Seriously, click the Marketplace link.

If you are talking about Building Apartment instead of Apartment in a House, then its a bit different.

A Building Apartment is run by one big company. The person you talked to (landlord aka superintended) most likely doesn't own the place. As such, he has little leeway. On top of that, big rental companies tend to have a strict guideline when it come to leases.

Building Apartments near McMaster are in high demand. This is due to them having a perfect balance of Location VS Price VS Features (so more much Private and some even have Balcony). As such, I won't wait till the last minute if you want a good location in the long run.

If you are talking about Apartment in a House, then its totally different.
