Accounting at McMaster
I want to become a C.A.. Are there a lot of people at Mac who goes for their C.A. and also do internship. Would it be good to go to Mac to become a C.A. It would take 5 years plus the summer to take the 3 courses. Also is internship really hard to get? is it really competitive

You can certainly get your CA designation by studying here at McMaster. You are correct that it takes 5 years with internship, but you can also do it in 4 years without internship. (Both options require the 3 additional courses the summer after you graduate).

As far as internships go, the economy is a big factor in how many positions are available. I went on an internship in the 08/09 year, but I know a lot of people this year who had trouble getting internships because of limited positions. If you're just starting out, hopefully the economy will be in better shape by the time you reach 3rd year and start looking for internships.

He's a good prof. He'll take the time to explain things to you if you really need it. He cares about you doing well. My first impression was douche when he stated all those rules out the gate. But he turned out to be pretty good. Tons of mark boosts too

Referring to Dr. Mohammad.

Dr. Mohammad is one of the better profs in terms of teaching ability. And the fact that he doesn't take shit from students and actually wants them to focus is an added bonus.

I want to become a CA too... but I think other universities would be better, especially since at Mac you'd have overload 2 courses + take 3 in the summer after graduation.

I can't argue with that logic.

That's a really good point. There are just so many accounting courses you can only take in 4th year.
