Admission Questions
*I know that many prospective students have been creating threads asking questions, so I thought maybe an admin can make an "Official Prospective Students Thread 2011" or something, so there won't be a million threads asking similar questions.*

I have a question regarding my current top six average and my chances of getting into Nursing and Life Sciences at Mac.
I know that the admission averages have increased due to an increase of applications but if any first year nursing or life sci students can tell me what they were accepted with last year I would appreciate it.

So my updated top six right now (on OUAC) are:
Bio - 94
Chem - 81
English - 85
Data - 80
Accounting - 86
World History - 91
Average = 86.17

(I took data and accounting last year.)

I go to a school that offers semestered and non-semester courses. I only have two semestered classes (history last semester, and law this semester)
My functions mark, for some reason, did not get sent since I dropped from AP functions to regular functions right before the first report card came out. My mark is currently a low 90 in that class.
Also my goal is to get a 90 in law. If I maintain my current marks, my top six average (in April) would be around 89-90.

So I was wondering what my chances of getting accepted are with the 86.17% average... or should I not be anticipating an acceptance before my April marks are sent?

Thanks!

Well, you most likely will not be accepted to Nursing, for which the cut-off is higher (high 80's, I believe), but you might have a slim, yet more likely chance to be accepted into Life Science (cut-offs are around mid to high 80's).

You have a good average and you should be able to get into most schools, your life does not end if you are not given an offer of acceptance to Mcmaster. My advice is to keep working hard and getting that average up.

Don't think of McMaster's community to be bad or anything. People are generally nice, except when they get the same questions over and over again.

Because it literally takes 2 seconds to do a google search.

All I found was "mid to high 80s" for both nursing and life sci, but I know someone who was rejected with an 87 for nursing
that's why I wanted input from actual students to see what they got in with last year
