After getting into a second year program...
LOL I know there's quite a few threads about second year programs, but I kinda had a different question. Basically, I'm wondering, what are my options if I get into the second year program of my choice but happen to find it really difficult?

I'm currently in life sci, and I have a decent average but I don't know whether or not I'll be able to keep up with the workload second year (I like to always have a backup plan). So what can I do if I can't keep up? Is it possible for me to switch programs? Maybe get into an "easier" second year program, but still staying in the same bio/chem field? I don't want my work so far to go to waste. <_<

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can switch programs, just talk to an academic adviser (They are located in right next to the lobby of BSB.

If you are unsure, go for the specialty. It's much easier to go from say H.Bio (Mol Bio with Genetics) to Life Sci than the other way around.

Agreed, especially since specialties have seat capacities so even if you meet all the requirements you may not get switched into the program because of space constraints.

Always better to take the extra specialized route this way if u do drop courses/ur speciality you are still left with the generic one
