Any ideas for for a friend visiting from AB?

Would like to do something meaningful/fun in the Hamilton area. I wanted to do something philanthropic like a day dedicated to meaningful activities and small acts of kindness with kids, animals, elderly, general population, sick kids at the hospital, orphanage, shelters, etc. Don't know of many such venues in/around Hamilton. Open to absolutely any ideas relating to this or anything else.

Would really appreciate your input!
