It's a big first year class. If you cannot get a open space just email the prof

Are you sure? there is only one 1ls3 class next term so this is why I’m worried. I’m also waiting till a spot opens. I heard they give the available spots to student in the sciences, life science faculty first and I’m in the social sciences.

Is it a required course for your year? If so, you don't need to worry about it. If it is full go to your business office who will probably redirect you to the math office and open a spot for you.

They will give available spots to science students first.
People will fail whatever the prereq is for 1LS3 and have to drop out, and others change their mind about courses so spots usually open up, but since you're not in science this course isn't required and so it's not guaranteed you'll get a spot. In my experience the math department is one of the better departments about allowing people into full courses, but that's still not a guarantee. It can't hurt to try, and if not there's always summer/next year/online. Or you could try taking 1A03.

How can I take it online? I didn’t know there were online math courses at MAC.

There aren't. You'd have to get an LOP and go through another university, typically Athabasca.
