I'm a first year and I took AP Biology back in Grade 12. Did the exam and got a 4. I would like to know whether I can get a transfer credit for it. Did anyone have a similar experience? Who should I talk to?

I'm fairly certain you should talk to the academic advisor(s) for whichever faculty you belong to.

What faculty are you in?
Contact your academic advisor. Depending on your faculty, you might be able to get credit for AP Bio or any other APs you might have taken which are higher than a 3.

I also had this situation last year. I'm almost 100% certain that McMaster actually doesn't recognize the AP exams and won't give you a credit for it.

I took 5 AP courses in high school and have talked to my advisor about them. For Bio you get 6, non-specific credits, which are basically useless because they aren't pre-requisites for anything.

6 Units is a lot, that's 6 units less that you have to take in your 4 years which means a lighter course load whenever you want to take it (best to be in upper years). It also means you save like 1000$.

You can get credits if you talk to them about it, I managed to get quite a few from high school which they didn't give me initially when I got my offer of admission.
Email your faculty right now, best option
