Article Rewind: Faculty and Program Series

In a couple of weeks second year students will be deciding on their academic programs for the next year when they log on to MUGSI to select their courses for next year. Third and fourth year students will also be re-selecting their programs when they go to pick their courses.

A lot of students do not know what program or faculties to select once they find out what they are accepted into, and that is OKAY. A lot of students change their programs a few times while they are in university. Also, once you select a program, you may not necessarily be bound to it, so long as you meet the requirements for other programs in following years (this various from program to program, however).

Last summer, MacInsiders Insider Agents wrote an articles on (nearly) every program available at Mac. They included programs you could select, possible careers with that degree, contact information for various people in the department as well as tips for success.

Second year students, what program are you thinking about for next year? Upper year students, what program(s) have you selected and why?

Check out the articles below:

Faculty and Program Series Part One: The Faculty of Social Science

Faculty and Program Series Part Two: The Indigenous Studies Program
Faculty and Program Series Part Three: The Faculty of Science
Faculty and Program Series Part Four: The Faculty of Humanities
Faculty and Program Series Part Five: Department of Kinesiology
Faculty and Program Series Part Six: The Faculty of Health Sciences
Faculty and Program Series Part Seven: Medical Radiation Sciences Program
Faculty & Program Series Part Eight: Faculty of Engineering
The Faculty and Program Series Part Nine: The Arts and Sciences Program
Faculty and Program Series Part Ten: DeGroote School of Business

Is your program missing? Write an article on it, and submit it here.

I started out in Psych and hated it so much I didn't even take 1AA3.

In Year II I accepted BA in Anthro because calculus screwed up my average, and didn't let me into an Honours.

At the end of Year III I accepted combined Honours Anthropology and Cultural Studies & Critical theory, which I graduated from.

I then did a second degree, Honours English with a minor in Indigenous Studies.

I'm going into my fourth year in the Arts & Science program, doing a combined honours with Biochemistry.

In past years Artsci presence (in terms of answering questions) on MacInsiders have been sparse, in favour of upper years flooding the new Facebook group. But I think there'll be enough of us around MI this summer to address any questions in a, erm, somewhat timely manner
