And you have to admit, Avenue has been pretty good. Obviously going down for a > day isn't the best, but I don't remember that happening before, only a few small outages here and there other than randomly scheduled maintenance

Yeah, I can't login. This never happened to me last semester though, it's only this past week that Avenue has been shitty. My Chem Quiz was extended 1 day, now this happens. It's fine though, can't expect everything to be perfect when you need it to be. |

This is a very good advice, i was just gonna say the say. It's good practice to save any past/sample midterms they provide you as soon as you see it. That way you don't have to worry about internet related problems before any test,quiz,etc.

OMG ive been trying to do my quiz but it wont let me :$..... what should i do? the prof even extended the deadline to today night from tomorrow

Something similar happened few years ago when i had a chem quiz and the prof extended the deadline. Your prof should extend the deadline for the quiz another day. It's not the students fault that avenue is under maintenance. Just email the prof and tell him/her about the problem. Hopefully it gets extended another day for you guys

Umm it's up to you, if it was me i would email the prof :p You have a test tomorrow? That sucks, i am really sorry to hear that...hopefully things work out for your benefit! It's frustrating when you have a midterm and can't look over some lecture notes/old midterms on avenue :/

same i have a test tmrw. what does this mean? students arent able to access material needed to study for the test yet the test is still going to take place. who do we freak out on?

This is so nice. People on the Chem 1AA3 facebook group are posting up all the tests and midterms because Avenue is down.

Been here for 3 years. Every year, Avenue goes down at least two times a year, for no reason.
Honestly, there is absolutely no reason why it should go down like this.

I have to say, it's not really just about downloading the material way ahead of time. there are things on avenue that students can't access when it's down, like videos and the discussion boards, as well as emailing professors who explicitly want to be contacted ONLY via avenue. For example, I have a midterm tomorrow but I can't check the discussion board to see if anyone else had similar questions that were answered by the TAs. It's mcmaster's responsibility to be making sure the system is up all the time.
