B.Sc. Science
Hi,
after seeing the final grade report, it said that i'm eligible for this program: B.Sc. Science, but i can't seem to find this program in any of the course calendar.
also i applied for B.Sc. Life sci and i had enough CA but the other requirement for that program was that i get average of 4 in bio 1A03, 1M03 and one from psych. i was not able to get an average of 4 on those three courses..
would that be the reason why i was put into B.Sc. Science?
also since I got into this program, what kind of courses can i take then? since i can't find this program on the course calendar.

Saw this post in another thread, not sure where you'll check so I'll respond here too.
Can you paste the eligibility information found on your grade report? (You can censor the grades using *'s if you'd like)
It would help us to better answer your question.

I believe it's the three-year general sciences program. If you're in Hamilton, the academic advisors on the firs floor of BSB are really helpful! Give them a shout!

Yeah looks like you got into General Science.
You can take any course that is open to all faculties, and in addition, courses that are marked 'must be in level X or above of a science program.'
Basically, you're restricted from taking things with a specialized course code, like MED PHYS 4A03. But I'm pretty sure there is no course you can enter in Life Sci that you can't enter in General Sci...the only difference is, as temara mentioned, it's a 3 year program.
If you'd like to complete an Honours degree (4 years) like Life Sci, then try to raise your grades a bit next year and reapply for Life Sci. There's nothing too detrimental at this point.

there are some courses you can't take for example, Bio 2C03, which is a prerequisite for a few 3rd year courses.

Alright you haven't qualified for a specific bachelor's of science program so you are going to have to shadow. I'm guessing you want to take bio, chem and psych for life sci?
Here's a link to the biology courses: On the left hand side there is a list of all the types of courses, go through and click on them and then you'll have to go through and look for ones that you have the prerequisits for! You can do it! I had to go through this. If you want to get into the honors program get your marks up to the 6 average. good luck! http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...nt/pg1757.html

there's honours life sci (CA = 6.0)
but then if u don't meet that criteria then u get put into
life science (i believe CA = 4.0)
but then if that criteria isn't met , then you're placed in Science II (aka general science)

For this program after I apply for next year courses, do I have to contact someone to let them know that I'm going up to the second level?
A pop up showed up about me contacting someone to let them know about it, but I don't know who to contact..

Are you going into second year? If so did you click on the right SOLAR link? When you get into SOLAR there should be 2 links, one for the 08/09 session and another for the 09/10 session. You should select the latter.

Yeah, it's like that in my degree audit too. They just aren't assigned to a requirement at the moment. Just give it some time.
