I'm sorry Terryboy, the PEO does not grant licenses to people who are off their crazy pills.

However I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are someone else, and address your questions. Disclaimer, I am sometimes blunt.

1. Even with a PEng license, you will not be considered on equal footing with your engineering peers in the eyes of employers due to the degree. However, for most successful people, degrees are of trivial matter once they begin forging a career and reputation. It really just gets your foot in the door those first couple of jobs. If you attempt to get a PE with a non B.Eng degree, be prepared to learn about a years worth of engineering courses on your own time and without instruction in order to pass the PEO exams.

2. If you couldn't get into Eng I at McMaster, you're sure as hell not going to get into any masters of engineering program, ever. You need an A average and an excellent CV. Forget this goal. You won't even be considered below a B+. These types of averages in university are an entirely different thing than in highschool. An M.Eng is a useless degree anyhow unless you plan to continue a career within academia, or earn it much later in your career if you happen to become an authority in your field. More engineers return to school to get MBAs than an M.Eng.

3. Just go to Civil at Ryerson already, sheesh. A) You got in, B) Its CEAB accredited, so no issues or extra requirements when becoming an engineer, C) Its civil, which is what you said is what you really want to do, D) No one here at Mac will have to deal with your neurotic Terryboy in person

Btw about the comment on me being TerryBoy i'm not.. i heard about TerryBoy from other forums and he does seem to have the same plan as me but now he's going into management engineering at waterloo instead.

he was an utter wreck. looks like he just got tired of posting here , and went to the other forums to start pestering them.

I never bothered applying to Waterloo --- I would've gotten in, but I did NOT want to be a part of such a spiritless engineering faculty... Not for 4 or 5 years. ANYWAYS: I don't understand how you get into Waterloo but not Mac ? Not that it matters to me anymore... I'm done a year here and would never go back, but what is this non-accredited engineering management program?

Wow, is it just me, or is this post ridiculously unnecessarily mean?!

If you really feel like you would like to give mac eng a shot, go for it! I know a few people in B tech programs, and they love it - lots of HANDS ON, practical experience. If you want to pursue a P Eng later, it looks like it's not too hard (only about 5 tests, as you mentioned), and would be worth it if you were really passionate about it.

Also, I barely got in my first and second years.. pretty much scraped by! And now I just had a year full of 8s and up! I just had to learn how I learn/how to work around the courses/tests they throw at you here. Do NOT!!!!! give up on your dreams! Anything is possible, especially when you're determined!

Good luck, and all the best to you!!
