Bates does not supply microwave, so yes bring your own! i suggest talking to your roommates about this too, and split up bringing the appliances, etc. so you don't have like 2 microwaves when you move in.

I'm in a two-person apartment (315) and was wondering what the size of the bedroom is... is it larger than the other ones since it's for two people? What about the living room, smaller than most I presume?

How are the rooms on a floor set up? Are the room types (2bdr, 4bdr) separated by floor? Or can a floor consist of 2, 4 and 6 bedrooom apartments?

They're not separated by floor, no - each floor has a mix of the different apartment sizes, but the vast majority are 4-bedroom ones.

I heard that next to every 2-person room there is a 6-person room, is that correct?

Hey so do I need to bring my own sheets, doona and pillow? Or is there some kind of linen service type thing? B/c there's no way I'm going to bring all of that stuff from Australia!

Residence doesn't provide you with bed linens but it does offer you the opportunity to rent them for the year! They send a brochure about this out in the mail package eventually.
Or, you can also easily take a stroll over to any store and buy a set as well.

I think I remember receiving a brochure with my initial residence package (with a letter from the HPA, etc.) from a company that sells linens for a ton of university residences. It included sheets, a comforter, blankets, towels, etc......but it seemed to be grossly overpriced. I'd agree with Temara...just find a Linen's 'n Things, or Home Outfitters, or Walmart even, and just pick up your linens when you get to Canada.
