I heard that the bedrooms were different sizes, and in general A is the smallest. I was assigned A, so I was wondering if this was true.

I'm pretty sure my roommate in room A had a larger room last year

(It might have been how the desk was positioned though, since my roommate in room D also seemed to have a bigger room. I was in room C)

When I was in Bates last year, room B was definitely the smallest but not by a lot. I had room A which was an acceptable size and I think room D is the biggest.

does anyone know if we get cable in our rooms or is it just in the common room in the apartment?

Just in the common room. There no cable in your bedrooms.

room D is slighty larger surface area wise But C gets lots of shelf room.

I was a room C and I was very happy.

FOR ALL NEWCOMERS TO BATES:

bring fans. lots of fans it wilL GET VERY HOT.

also you can bypass the window security thing (the thing that prevents it to open the whole way) by taking out the last window pane.

Bates was a very quiet residence last year (for me at least)

I was in room C last year and the shelf space was great for storing textbooks Room D was the biggest but it shares a wall with the shower and our shower was really noisy for some reason so its a compromise.

Can anyone explain how 6 person apartments map out?

so the 6 person, its a HUGE common room, 2 fridges in the common room. Then teh hall way has the 6 rooms, and theres this nook that holds the 2 sinks...each side of the nook has a shower i belive

yup. i was in a 6 person last year. the only thing is that the nook with the sinks has 2 toilet rooms on either side, and beside one of these is the shower room. so there is only one shower:p but everything is so separate that pretty much all of us could get ready at the same time just by randomly doing what we needed to do.
and the huge common room is great for group study

There are also three drawers under each bed for clothing or storage. Before you unpack make sure that your bed isn't the wrong way(with the drawers against a wall) because my roomates was and it was a huge hastle to turn the bed once she had unpacked everything.

I lived in Bate first floor last year, and I hated the spot... my room is right in front of the main entrace so i can NEVER open my curtain.
Im living in room 410 this year~ and room D.
My roommate was a D last year and her room was HUGE, 1.5x the size of my room.

I'm also in a 4 bedroom apartment this year in Bates! I've never lived in a residence on that side of campus before, so it will be interesting and fun. Just wondering...do any of you know how the layout is? Or better yet, where is room C in relation to the bathroom and shower? Thanks so much.
