Oh, why hello. Social procedure dictates that after an intitial introduction and meaningless small talk, two individuals who are "in the mood", as the average person might say, should engage in coitus.

I know a guy that looks almost exactly like sheldon

Even without seeing that last line, I heard it all in Sheldon's voice after I saw the "Oh, why hello."

Sheldon seems to be your kind of person NowHere, maybe modelling yourself after his genius shall reduce your social awkwardness to manageable levels.

I actually find Sheldon a bit annoying and seeing as how that's a sitcom, I don't think modelling yourself after a character is a good idea. *looks around for the laughter to cue*

Shut the hell up.
Really. You're getting annoying.
We're giving you advice and having laughs and what not...but we didn't ask for you to critique every single piece of it.

Look buddy, I didn't ask you for your advice. This thread was to get an idea of girls's opinions on the matter. But thanks anyways.

I found the best way was to actually try it.

You know what? Try it. It's been suggested in the thread many times, but actually try it. Don't post in this thread anymore. Really, don't. Go out there and actually find some girl, any girl...or even guy (not in a strange secluded space of course), sit down, and talk. Talk.
Forget your inhibitions for just one day. Forget about making mistakes. Think of it as a page in your life that you can just rip out if anything goes wrong. Just whip up a convo and talk. Don't try to make matter out of thin air...really talk. If it's a girl and she's attractive...and after talking to her you think you like her, ask her out.
I’ve never tried it, but that’s because I never had the courage to. Maybe you’re better than me.
...oh, and be a dear and tell us how it goes, will you?
For reference, SW, I've done that myself and it sucks. Half the time you realize she has a boyfriend like 5 minutes in, or worse, 5 hours in. The other half you lose interest because she won't stop talking about Twilight.
Dating chicks you're comfortable with in a friendship that potentially turns into more FTW

I agree. But I had to make some attempt to get him to stop.
