I think you might need it during the year if you're aiming for any of those science second year specializations
But I'd double check that

^you dont but do it in first year. no reason to do it in summer unless u cant for some reason such as it conflicting with other courses or w,e

Doing it in summer would be a mistake. You can't get out of first year life sci without it. Waiting until the summer could cost you a spot in any biology/chemistry based program.

I should have clarified, I'm taking this course as an elective and was looking at doing it in the summer because the prof is better.

where do we go to see wht courses are available during the summer term as im guessing tht which is offered is most probably going to be limited compared to the main school year.
