Your best bet is to just keep trying. It is a term 2 course so I don't quite understand why you're rushing.

well after i sent an email to the department of bio, i got a reply saying that some students change their timetable JUST before classes start so i thought i might try and see if anyone does drop it......but personally i think that ppl will start dropping (if at all) after the first week of classes (which is y i was skeptic a bit abt it)

Stick with it, someone will drop it eventually. The best is to try the first week of second semester.
