bio lab reports ( 2nd year)
hey so i was just fixing up my schedule and was wondering when the lab reports for bio 2a03, lo3,for3., and co3 are typically due.

are they due the following day like 1a03/1m03 or something else.

thanks

For BIO 2A03, when I took it last year with McClelland, the formal lab reports were due during the next time you had a lab. Since Bio 2A03 labs run every 2 weeks, you have 2 full weeks to complete and submit it during your next lab class. If it's late, they are not marked. But I checked the course outline for this winter's course, and you guys have one week to complete the formal lab reports instead of two weeks, which sucks.

Just a heads up ... the labs are the worst thing that you can imagine. they were my torture during second year. And dont be surprised if you dont get good marks most ppl dont.

+10000.

@OP-
Bio 2A03 labs were due every two weeks. There's no drop box or anything, so you just take your written report with you to hand it in in your next lab.

Bio 2C03- Has tutorials, no labs. So there's 10-11 tutorials with questions that you do in tutorial and hand in at the end of the 3-hr session (almost all of them didn't last 3 hours!). Also, there will be group presentation at the end of term which is presented in tutorial as well. These are weekly not biweekly.

Bio 2F03- Biweekly. No lab reports due. I had it with Chow-Fraser not Cartwright, so it might change slightly. But anyway, we were put into groups of 8-10 at the start of term and we had 4 presentations to do together, each worth 7.5%. There were 3 presentations (with all group members) and a debate (group was split into smaller ones of 2-3 people/group). So in the end, you don't have to hand anything in but you do need to prep beforehand. Also, your TA contributes 2.5% of your mark for each presentation while your group members give you the other 5%.

And haven't taken 2L03 :/

I don't know how much things have changed in the two years I've been away, but it should be that bad. Labs are time consuming, but they aren't GPA killers.

For 2A03, just make sure to ask what the TA expects in the reports. When I TA'ed the course the average for the labs were 70-80% I believe. As for 2C03, Ray is no longer there... but tutorials were fairly easy. Most of the people in my section got perfect, or they only lost 1 or 2 marks on an assignment (this was summer 2010). TAs are people too... so just ask them if you're stuck or confused with something. They don't bite =)

Nope, just reading over the lab and some textbook sections. Only for the last lab did we have to do a bit of the lab, but only because of time constraint. There's no formal pre-lab questions.

I don't recommend them both on the same day. But if you have to pick, go with Bio 2A03 and 2C03 not with chem! One can drain you out but having both on the same day is a little too much. Maybe post up your schedule so I can give you alternate options?

can someone kindly explain how the 2a03 labs work? i understand that u have a lab, and a report due in a week time frame. but what is it exactly about the labs that makes them "hard"? where do students typically lose marks? what kind of things one needs to watch out for?
