Biochem 3G03 vs. 2EE3
For those who've taken both courses, which one would you recommend more and why (in terms of workload, difficulty, interest, profs etc.)?

Lol yea I've heard of that, but I had a few friends who took it this year and they said that the material was really dry and that there was a crapload to memorize, so it's only easy if you have the time to dedicate to it. Looking at the reviews for 3G03, it seems to be a good course, not too difficult and I've heard that both courses are similar, but hopefully someone who's taken both courses can give their opinion.

I definitely enjoyed 2EE3 more, 3G03 really required finding old tests and going to tutorials to figure out how to solve problems as the prof does not teach you how in class. Old tests also helped for 2EE3, however reviewing the slides was all it required. Also for 2EE3 there was less to read in the textbook (basically not needed) while for 3G03 I found I had to read it for better understanding as prof was not as good at getting through the material. So overall I would definitely recommend 2EE3!

2EE3 was a pain. Zhorov repeated some questions from previous years' midterms but unless you have access to the Health Sci Only folder (where they have posted previous years' midterms) it's basically memorize all his slides + info from the textbook correlating to the figures. I found the class really boring - by far my least favourite biochem course.
3G03 lectures were very dry. I took it with Dr. Yang & Dr. Bishop. They posted previous years' tests and you just had to go to tutorials to learn how to solve the questions. To me the questions were like fun puzzles. About 80% of the test was identical to the previous years' tests just different numbers. The rest of the 20% was on lecture notes. Very very easy course I found. 5 tests, each worth 20%, you don't have to write the exam if you're happy with your mark. Exam (I heard) was much more difficult than the tests.
Summary: 3G03 much easier, less time consuming. 2EE3 very slightly less dry than 3G03.

Because there are program-specific areas of LearnLink that are locked to other students. Students must've ended up posting old stuff in the Health Sci only folder.

I had Yang for 3G03, sorry I forgot old tests were given it was 2EE3 that finding old ones really helped (someone is usually a friend with a health sci and it gets distributed around if you ask people).

It's a program that most Faculty of Health Sciences (which includes Biochem) courses use instead of Avenue.
(It's really just FirstClass but I guess LearnLink sounds cooler and is more unique)
