Biochemistry question
Hello,

Can BIOCHEM 2B03 & 2BB3 be taken by students in Kinesiology? I'm a bit confused because of the course calendar. It states that:

Prerequisite(s):
ISCI 1A24; or credit or registration in one of CHEM BIO 2OA3, CHEM 2BA3 or 2OA3, and registration in B.H.Sc. (Honours) Biomedical Sciences Specialization, Honours Biochemistry, Honours Chemical Biology or Honours Molecular Biology and Genetics; or registration in Honours Biophysics or Honours Physics (Biophysics Specialization).

"registration in one of CHEM BIO . . . AND registration in Honours Molecular . . . " So you need CHEM BIO 2OA3, CHEM 2BA3, or 2OA3 and be in Honours . . . or just one of those courses? Any help is appreciated, thanks! .

Written a different way, you need:

To have taken ISCI 1A24
OR
To have credit/registration in organic chemistry AND registration in one of: BHSC (biomed), biochem, chembio, mol bio
OR
To be in the biophysics program

So no, kinesiology students cannot take these courses. You would take biochem 2EE3/3G03 (or whatever the course codes are now - that's what they used to be).

Hey Starfish, sorry to bother you again but I'm wondering again about Bio 2B03. They don't make it really clear.

"Prerequisite(s):
BIOLOGY 1A03, CHEM 1AA3; or ISCI 1A24; or BIOLOGY 1A03 and registration in Honours Medical Physics or Honours Biophysics"

Do I need to take CHEM 1AA3 to take Bio 2B03? Or can I get by with just BIO 1A03.
Thanks again!

You need both. Just as before, the semicolon denotes "OR" (different sets of requirements).
So in this case, you'd need to satisfy one of the following three sets of prerequisites:

Bio 1A03 and Chem 1AA3
OR
ISCI 1A24
OR
Bio 1A03 and registration in med phys or biophys

Since you're not in med phys or biophys, you need both bio 1A03 and chem 1AA3.
