Hello, if anyone is planning on dropping out of bio 2c03 for the winter 2017 term, please send me a message. I really need to take this course as a prerequisite for upper year courses. I will forever be grateful!

If it's a requirement for your program, go to the academic advisors office and let hem know. They should be able to squeeze you in.

If not, maybe take it in the summer or even in Fall semester of your 3rd year and take the courses that it's a prerequisite for in the Winter term of 3rd year

I would suggest not doing that. If it's a "critical path" course, it's best to take it early and not count on one's luck later.

Next year the course might be only available in the same timeslot as a required 3rd-year course. That happens a lot. Or it might not be offered til the winter semester next year.

And it seems departments usually don't know what they're going to offer in the spring/summer until February for sure.

Best thing to do for now is not worry at all, just keep checking the class in Mosaic every day and hope to get lucky there... someone's bound to drop out of the program between now and December, right? If that doesn't work, yup visiting the department in December and asking to get squeezed in is totally doable.
