You can get through Math 1LS3 with nothing but the $40 custom course ware which you can split between a group of friends and photocopy because all it is are printed out handouts.

IIRC Bio, Chem, Physics, and Math 1B03 were the only courses I really used the text book for and Math 1B03 was only because I skipped (or slept through) so many classes that I really needed the book to keep up. Even then, you can get used copies of the Bio, Chem and Psych books because you'll likely never touch the "extras" provided by the new copies.

True, you'll need the physics book if you want to do questions. Although you can just borrow/share with a friend.
