Dean's and Provost's Honour Lists
So this is silly but, it came up on the Psych ELM discussion board and no one really knows what percentage of students get on Dean's list and on Provost's list.
I know Dean's is less than 10, but is that undergraduate only or plus graduate? What about Provost's? Annnd how many students go to Mac altogether this year? Undergraduate and graduate numbers please. :]

Like I said, it came up on the Psych discussion board, and even Dr. Kim is looking into it. Why would they write in the letter to students who are named to Dean's list, that fewer than 10% get on it? It's interesting to know. If you have nothing to contribute, then don't post at all.

that was my contribution. why bother yourself with such trivial things. I actually know the numbers for social science about the dean's list. I also know the number of students who got on Provost in 07/08. And I'm not an idiot so I also know approx. how many students go to Mac.
trust me when I say that this information will not help you in any single way.

Knowing that the sky is blue doesn't help me in any single way either. I just wanted to know what the numbers were, but you have to be a smartass and withhold that information because you want to decide for me what I should or shouldn't know. I even said that this is somewhat silly, but I am curious, and so are other people.
Oh, and I know approximately 20,000 go to Mac, but I wanted to know the enrollment numbers for 09/10.
I got a letter from Charlotte Yates, the dean of social sciences, so maybe some deans don't do it.

Umm there was only one Social Science member in the provost's list in 08/09 I think. He was in Econ too(which is a math's like non-subjective subject for a number of courses). As for Dean's list I don't reckon there would be a constant percentage; Isn't it anyone with average of above 10 gets it?
I did dig up the provost's list randomly last month via google or McMaster.ca search: Try that!
For provosts its a 12.0 Sessional Average so I guess it depends on whoever gets a 12? According to my best recollection there were around 40 people on the Provosts(mostly Health Scis)

It turned into a huge bashing thread on Health Sci since some of their courses let them choose their own marks, etc...
I think it actually might have gotten locked, I can't remember. It was also several pages in length.
