There are zero parallels between 9/11 and this. Information hasn't been released yet, but i would assume they hid bombs where? Garbage cans maybe? Or bags they left behind? And the bombs were probably of the homemade variety, because i would assume military grade bombs would have had a slightly bigger impact.
I'm not trying to be disrespectful to the dead, but the effort required to hide a bomb in a public place is incredibly easier than the coordinated hijacking and crashing of airplanes into a building. My father used to work with airplane simulators, and i distinctly remember his awe after 9/11 with those terrorists because he said how incredibly skilled those pilots had to be to hit a building going at 500+ mph. The style of attack in 9/11 was historically unprecedented. Bombs planted in a public event is a travesty, a horrible travesty, but the two are on completely different levels.
Was it even stated that this was foreign terrorism? My bet is on domestic terrorism for whatever crazy fucking political agenda the terrorists had in mind.

Its okay, you need to learn how to crawl, before learning how to walk.... sorta speak.

It's okay, with the amount of globalization and everyone living everywhere around the world, the line between domestic and foreign blurs.

"The reason that the Aurora shooter shot up that theatre = exact same reason that Al-Qaeda does what it does."

As far as I can find, it's still 2 (thank God). One of the victims was an 8-year-old boy.
I'm still disgusted over this.

why dont ppl ever say 'omg im disgusted with the 15 bombings that happened in middle east right now'. obviously this boston thing is bad too but it gets kinda disappointin when american stuff gets mentioned so much. is this part of human nature? pretty sad ppl we r to only show that we care about shit that happens in the western world.
in some parts of the middle east bombing is an every day thing, it's unfortunate but happens a lot and its not a surprise. In Canada or US if a horrible event like that occurs, it's shocking b/c people are not used to that. We are not going through war or anything like what they are going through, so one event shocks us and we talk about it and gets all over the news.
besides just b/c people don't talk about it, doesn't mean they don't care. maybe some people care but don't feel like talking about that in front of others.

When a middle east conflict starts, pretty every day for months the conflict is followed as its developing so it does get followed. If a bombing happened every day for months in boston, it would likely stop being shown too, so I don't know why you are mentioning this

no, im talking about the social media thats goin nuts right now, ppl feeling all sorry and shit and they should but it gets sad to see how everyone here neglects other places. no one cares about problems unless its in their face. im just stating that its disappointing that we are like that and we make it seem as if only westerners lives are of value. media is pretty bias when it comes to this shit, and if bombings happened in boston every day they would prob stop being shown because all westerners would be in danger lol.

Yup, it's disgusting. But we're overwhelmed by socially ignorant, comfortable first-world babied people, whatyagonnado?
I think we should take the time to reflect how fortunate that terrorist attacks are extremely rare ocurrances, relative to other parts in the world.
