Boston Pizza
Boston Pizza is one of the most popular places for getting together for a meal with friends or family. There are a couple of reasons it's so popular: - Convenience: Located right on Main St., BP's is about a 10 min walk from campus, or the 10 or 5b bus will take you there in a matter of...

This might be a stupid question.. But.. =P .. Since they take the meal card.. does that mean that it's like you're eating as part of your rez meal plan? Or does it only offer a discount. ALso, how do we know which places accept the meal card. Thanks ..

It's like eating as part of your rez meal plan. The money doesn't come out of the basic account though. It comes out of your Freedom account.

There's not that many places, but it's nice to have diversity in your meals.
Quarters (or whatever it's going to be called, Mahal, Eastside Mario, Boston Pizza, PizzaPizza (They also deliver), Pita Pit (Also delivers), Kelseys, Basilique and Gino's all take the meal card.

Thanks a lot. I also had another question if you don't mind, for the flex portion, it tells you when you've ran out of money. But for the basic portion of the meal plan, how do you know if you've used it all up or if you still have money left in it. Also, which part is the portion that doesn't get transferred to the next year, or is it both?
Thanks!

The money you use on-campus (except Quaters or whatever it's going to be called) will come out of your Basic Plan first. You can check on your meal plane here: http://mealcard.mcmaster.ca/acctnfo.htm
Flex and Freedom will get transferred to the next year. Or you can write a letter explaining why you want to withdraw the money from those accounts. You can do that at the end of the year. But usually it's always nice to have money on your card even if you are off campus. If you ever need to have a quick bite for any reason it's nice to have the card.

i would say that the food here is OK, nothing special, just your typical pizza and pasta although if you pay $10 you get UNLIMITED pizza which is great when your going out with friends and you wanna try a few different types (bbq chicken is by far the best!) you can all buy 1 and split them then get unlimited others! the potato skin and spinach dip with chip starters are UNBELIEVABLE same with ur classic burger and fry dishes although the pasta i wasn't too impressed with.. however fair prizes all around and basically when you go there, you go for the experience and you always have a good time! the bars always packed especially when the big games are on and kareoke nights on tuesdays are usually packed starting around 11. definietly a great place to hang out and meet ppl for first years because you can still do kareoke and sit in the bar section without getting i.d.!!
ENJOY!

Protip: you can use your mac meal card to buy gift certificates, which you can then use to buy booze at the bar.
Your welcome!

Tuesday night Karaoke!!! SO FUN especially surrounded by drunk Mac students. It's easy to make new friends if you are looking to widen your social circle. The drinks are not too expensive, and food is pretty decent for the price you pay (a $10 to $20 meal is enough to really fill you up). I like the set-up in this restaurant, as you get a decent amount of privacy.
