Bringing desktop AND laptop to res?
For all you laptop owners, are you also bringing your desktop with it as well?

I was thinking of just bringing the monitor and connect my laptop to it so I can have a bigger screen.. but I'm thinking that if I bring the monitor I might as well bring my desktop too...

What do most people do?

(sorry if this is in the wrong section)

It doesnt really matter, but remember with a desktop, thats less desk space you will have to do work. If you have a laptop, its more than enough

Yea, ill have to agree. No need for two computers.

Unless your a gamer/designer/video editor and need the processing power of a desktop.

I was in LP , double room last year. I brought both. The laptop was great for classes (and I'm in eng.) and the desktop with a 24" monitor was both a TV replacement, and a great way to kick butt on the design project for 1C03. My desktop is an utter beast though: Had waaaaay more ower than the laptop. If the desktop and laptop are spec'd about the same, it might be a little more up in the air...

hey andrew! i only brought a laptop to res in first year and so did my roomate and it worked out perfectly! she got a 11'' b/c she brought it to class a lot and didn't want one that was too heavy and i had a 15'' which i never brought to class once and it worked out well too. it all depends on what YOU want. i know a few ppl who brought the desktop too but in my opinion it takes up wayy too much space on the desk and it's kind of unnecessary.

hope this helps!

Too much crap to have to worry about 1st year.. unless you want to keep your desktop in your room to download from DC++ 24/7, while you bring the laptop to class, LMAO
