I am envious of your nutsack.
I've had countless centipede encounters... nothing will make me brave enough to kill them.

I had a centipede crawl up my leg once, to which I promptly responded by madly flailing about and slapping my leg until all that was left of it was gooooooooooooo

If the bug looks like the one that someone posted a picture of, it's a house centipede. There are tons of these at my parents house. They usually come out in the summer because the house is cooler, but we see a few in the fall now and then. They almost never go upstairs, because it's too warm. We always find them in our laundry room and basement. They are creepy and gross, but essentially harmless.
I usually just call my dad to kill them. But there is a specific Raid for centipedes, you can probably get it at WalMart or Shoppers Drug Mart. It's $7.
If you can't get that anytime soon, hairspray works too. Get a bottle with a constant spray when you hold down the nozzle. Just make sure you aren't standing under one if you spray it while it's on the ceiling - it will fall on you.

Usually I just whack them to death :S Today I found one in the bathroom. The funny thing is, it was near a spider web. I figured it was either eating the spider or the spider was getting ready to eat it. Battle royal of the bugs

I remembered another story. A bumblebee was buzzing around my room, which is quite small. I was displeased with the situation, so I tried to kill it. I hit it, but not hard enough, so it fell into my blankets. I had it trapped, but not really where I wanted it. What followed was about 30 minutes of me carefully pulling at the bundle of blankets on my bed to see where the bee was. It would buzz, I would smack my bed/blankets with a textbook, then we would return to the silence as I tried to find where it was hiding. Eventually I found him and sprayed it with air freshener to stop it from flying, then pounded it with my book. I had won.
Sadly, I la I found out from my boyfriend, as I recounted my tale of victory, that bees are actually kind of in a crisis and dying out, which is really bad for the circle of life etc. I felt kinda bad...but not really. I had beat the ****er

I don't understand why you guise feel you need to kill these insects...
If I see one in my house I'm just like "Good day to you sir!" and tip my hat to them. Usually they'll just do the same and scurry off to their own business.

Because they lay eggs in you and shit.
I don't know what it is about centipedes and spiders... but they're terrifying.

lol it's called a leaf footed bug (Leptoglossus), one of the biggest bugs I've seen and killed. Gave me a surprise when I first saw one in my room. They usually appear around September to find a place to stay over the winter (like houses). After that, they just stick to the woods.
And yes, I did some research
