Business I - Textbook Costs
Hey guys I have a quick question, I'm doing some budgeting and I was wondering how much first year textbooks cost for the Business I program (on average).

Ps. I'm taking 30 units

Thanks,
Derek

There's a book list at titles.mcmaster.ca. Only term 1 courses though, but it should help out. The cost of books vary depending if the professors use the same books or not. But I guess business doesn't upgrade their books often...

Yeah I saw it, but do you usually end up getting all the textbooks? I've heard that some profs dont use some textbooks so I just wanted a rough number that it would be around.

Wait until the first day of classes, the professor could make changes to the list but doesn't notify titles about it. Sometimes "required" books are really just "highly recommended".

I personally buy all the required textbooks. Even if I only use it a couple times, it's a good fall back in case I don't understand stuff or if I need practice questions. Although I don't buy them from titles. You can find used textbooks everywhere and even new textbooks online for cheaper than titles. But titles will be the maximum amount you pay.

Alright thanks for the fast reply.

On the topic of titles, do they have good prices for school supplies (binders/pens/pencils/etc)? Or can you get better deals at staples or other supply stores?

I never compared the prices, but I would say that Titles is more expensive than other stores. It's really the only store that sells school supplies on/near campus. Definitively look into buying your school supplies elsewhere. If things are on sale you should buy more. So like if erasers are on sale, buy like 3.

I would wait to buy all the textbooks after the first day of each class. Like I said, you never know if the professor changes his book list without notifying titles. Better get the information straight from the source.
