Buying Textbooks?
Hi guys, another quick question (sorry I've been asking a lot lately). Um, how do I know which textbooks I need for my courses? And when should I start buying them? Should I wait a week or so until the profs tell us which textbooks we need? Should I check the Titles website? I'm confused, and I don't wanna buy the wrong ones. Thanks!

Go here and select your courses. It will then tell you what books you need. You should wait until your first class just to make sure what the prof wants.

You can start looking on the MacInsiders marketplace, on Kijiji or on the Titles website for used copies of the books you need but you should wait until the first day of class just to be safe.

Yes check Titles. You can find them for cheaper and used through the Macinsiders marketplace, FB marketplace and Kijiji. Amazon.ca sometimes has them for cheaper (new and used). You should wait a week just to see if you'll even need it (ie. if the prof tests for material exclusively from lecture notes then you won't need it but if the prof says there will be textbook readings that aren't covered in lecture but will be tested, you'll need it).

DONT buy any books til after you've gone to a few classes (learned that the hard way in first year)... it might turn out that you dont even need half of them

It is indeed hilarious what my dad had told me about how even though he bought some of his textbooks he didn't even need some of them. I was told by many people that I should wait the first week or so to find good deals and also to ensure that you do need the book xD .
