Cafe in Thode Opens! "The Reactor"

MacInsiders wrote about the big changes coming to Thode Library back in August. One of those big changes was a new Cafe that was going to be named "Far Coast" and serve specialty coffee, etc. Well after a naming contest, the new cafe will be called "The Reactor" and is now open! So go and check it out! Read the cafe launch story here. The cafe will offer premium fair trade coffee, and serve Panini sandwiches, hot soup, and gourmet grab ‘n go items.

Also coming up is Thode's 30th birthday! Go and celebrate on Dec 2nd. Invitation below:

Food, drinks, mac pros and imacs don't mix well. But what the hey, Thode is one green t-shirt and genius bar away from becoming a full fledged apple store.

I heard its awful, having music playing and smoothie makers whirring all of the time, distracting people, even though first floor is more social now, it leaks through! :(

Its really really expensive. I got a smoothie there for $4.50... They basically filled a cup with ice, added juice and called it a smoothie. They do the same thing in bistro for 3.75, and even that's ridiculous. It's also really noisy. But for food in the library it's pretty good.

Yeah it's the typical trendy overpriced Starbucks-esque coffee place. Their drinks are pretty good but definitely not worth what they charge.

I don't know if they have their paninis in yet though, they're supposed to be really good.

I think they had to stop doing paninis - there was smoke rising to the second floor and the librarians were complaining that they'd ruin the books.

They "renovated" a library by taking away the books and adding a cafeteria. What's next, removing the study rooms for an air hockey table?
