Is that expensive or similar to what Titles will sell it for?
Yep I think Titles sells the MS for around that price. I bought mines at staples but I'm sure titles price isn't that far away - it's probably the same.

is this the only calculator that you are allowed to use at mac? or can others be used also?

The FX-991 is "the McMaster standard calculator", which means that it's the only one allowed to be used on the vast majority of tests and exams. You are free to use whatever calculator you choose to complete assignments or practice problems outside of class, but in the overwhelming majority of cases you'll be restricted to the FX-991 for any testing. The intention is basically to level the playing field and ensure that no one has an unfair advantage over anyone else due to differing levels of technology, and also to ensure that no data is stored within the calculator that may be used to cheat on tests.

The fx-991MS is at sale at Staples for $18.91 ($5 off)! I'm sure the sale ends Thursday night and I'm not sure if it's chainwide but try your luck!

That is true - some classes don't let you use calculators on tests at all. If I remember correctly, first year calculus (for science students) didn't let you, but it wouldn't have really helped, anyway - the FX-991 can't do calculus :p

If the class does allow a calculator on a test, though, it has to be the FX-991 - you'll probably use it a lot more in chemistry and physics than in math, oddly enough.

Alrite I just got a Staples flyer and the fx-991 MS is available for $18.91 until next Wednesday! So grab it while you can. The staples I went to had LITERALLY HUGE BOXES of these calculators so it should be easy for you to get one.

Smart man. Nothing personal, but don't purchase from Titles unless absolutely necessary; they are overpriced for many things including those Casio calculators.

You guys just mention about FX-991 MS. How about ES version. During the exams, can we use the FX-991 ES version?
