Calculators in MATH 1LS3?
Hello, this question might seem, well, a little stupid...
but I'm going to ask anyways... lol

I am aware that the only calculator accepted by mac to use is the casio fx 991
BUT when are we actually allowed to use calculators?
are they allowed in all tests/quizzes/exams for this course? (math 1LS3)

thanks for the help!

you can use calculators whenever you want unless told otherwise. but from what i remember when taking 1ls3 in first year, you can use the casio calculator during all tests and the exam

For math 1LS3, you def need the calculator for all ur tests and the exam, majority of the questions rely on the calculator

You can use calculators unless otherwise stated. Some tests won't let you use calculators.
For my physics 1BB3 midterms and exam we weren't allowed to use calculators.
In one instance for Econ 2I03, we were allowed to use financial calculators in addition to the casio fx991 during the midterms

lovric is an awesome prof, and the class was pretty easy in my opinion. just go to class, take good notes and study for your tests. the first half of course was pretty much review, we did a lot of translation in graphs and finding the equation of the line and stuff. it wasn't that hard. if lovric does the same assessment as he does then he drops the lowest test mark. good luck!

in a lot of other schools calculators aren't allowed for first year calculus. One must rely on long division/multiplication.

Thank god that Mac allows calculators because I honestly don't remember how to do that old school stuff...

The profs will specify before/during test if you can. Generally it is easier when no calculators then they are forced to give you nice numbers
