Even though this question isn't directed towards me, I wouldn't say it is the number of "likes" that made your post seem more plausible - I usually find people "like" posts on this forum when they find something funny, not because the post was helpful, etc.
IMO, it was probably the correct spelling, format, etc. Maybe the confidence you displayed as well, when you called everyone out by claiming they were misinformed.
