It is possible but you would have to contact your academic advisor. You would need permission where your advisor would write a notation on your account that'll allow for 6 course in one term and 4 in the other.

not 100% sure if the rules are the same for life science however for commerce as long as your total credits equal 30 you are safe to take 6 and 4 anything more than that you need permission and will have to pay extra for course overload, but it always safe to call and ask your student advisor to double check

I was in science, and once I tried to register in 27 units all in second term. I wasn't allowed to register for more than 18 units in one term without special permission.

I think this may cause some issues with grad school and such, when they look for full course load per term. I would talk to an advisor before proceeding.

Idk about grad schools, but professional schools usually only care that you had a full load over the fall/winter session. Individual terms don't matter.

I know some medical schools want 5 courses per term in the years being used to calculate your gpa.
Also, 6 courses in one term esp in first year is NOT recommended at all, trust me 5 courses isn't that hard to handle if you're looking to make your second term easier.
Also, I think as long as you're not going over 30 units per academic session, SOLAR will allow you to have 18 units per term.
